Our fixed assets investment in property, warehouses and equipment is a testament to the fact that we mean business in what we do.  We are very well equipped with modern equipment to carry out the services that we offer.

Below are the different types of rigs we have at JDE Group as part of our assets:

  • Blast holes drilling rigs

  • Hydro-geological drilling rigs

  • Exploration rigs

  • Pump testing rigs

At JDE, we have developed geophysics solutions that you can select from whether you are seeking to perform hydrocarbon exploration at depths greater than 1000 meters or need near-surface geophysics for groundwater investigations, which usually are restricted to depths less than 250 meters below the surface. Groundwater applications of near-surface geophysics include mapping the depth and thickness of aquifers, mapping aquitards or confining units, locating preferential fluid migration paths such as fractures and fault zones and mapping contamination to the groundwater such as that from saltwater intrusion.

We closely work in collaboration with universities as well as the geophysics community and specialist societies dedicated to near surface geophysics focusing our work on hydro-geology and the study of groundwater.

The department of geology at JDE understands that three factors are crucial in order to achieve a successful geophysical survey and our geological engineers and staff can walk you through our systematic and rational approach used in the execution of all geophysical surveys.

Planning the survey

Designing the correct geophysical survey

Selecting the appropriate geophysical contractor

Below is a list of the different techniques used in the field of geophysical surveys:

  • Magnetic (or Geo-magnetic) techniques

  • Gravity

  • Electrical

  • Direct Current Resistivity (DCR)

  • Very Low Frequency (VLF)

  • Electromagnetic

  • Frequency-Domain Electromagnetic (FDEM)

  • Time-Domain Electromagnetic (TDEM)

  • Seismic

  • Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)

  • Other electrical and electromagnetic methods

Geochemistry is the study of the composition, structure, processes, and other physical aspects of the Earth.  It examines the distribution of chemical elements in rocks and minerals, as well as the movement of these elements into soil and water systems.

Understanding the chemical composition of rocks tells oil companies where to drill for oil; helps environmental management companies decide how to dispose of a toxic or hazardous substance; and  steers mining companies toward use of natural resources with a minimum environmental impact.

Our team of geochemists allows JDE to provide services that seek to uncover the wealth of information buried in the liquids, gases, and mineral deposits of rock.  At JDE, we pride in our staff that possesses a deep understanding of this information and serves our clients in assisting them make informed decisions on a range of industrial and scientific research applications.

Our geochemists balance their time between the lab, the field and the office.  They spend a lot of time in the field, gathering data and analyzing samples on sites.

Below is a list of geochemistry related services we provide at JDE:

  • Plan scientific studies, visit field locations, and collect samples

  • Analyze samples, either in the field or in the laboratory

  • Guide mining exploration using geological data

  • Develop remediation plans to clean up toxic waste sites

  • Contribute to environmental management policies in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

An aquifer pump testing is a controlled field experiment used to estimate hydraulic properties of aquifer systems.  During this procedure, an aquifer is stressed by pumping up water out of a test well at a controlled rate (constant rate) while water levels are measured.  This constant rate pump testing is the most commonly used aquifer pump testing.

Because of the many  years of geological, geophysical & environmental drilling as well as construction services that we have provided, our experience qualifies us to install monitoring wells (designs from ¾ inch diameter to 8-inch diameter) for a variety of different applications such as:

  • Environmental chemical monitoring

  • Geological sampling and analysis

  • Groundwater yield measurement

We maintain a sizeable inventory of materials, which helps us best serve our clients’ scheduling and budget requirements. Our objective is to arrive at each job site with the exact materials at hand to complete the project.

JDE offers effective and innovative submersible pump solutions to groundwater problems using large diameter deep wells.  By offering professional services from initial design, drilling, casing, supply and installation of pumping equipment we assure an effective dewatering solution.

Dewatering wells are installed in-pit to lower the water level and maintain a safe and dry pit which is indispensable to mineral extraction.  Large diameter wells, usually on the order of 14” – 18” in diameter, are drilled and cased vertically to the appropriate depths for the project (between 125 mbgl – 200 mbgl.)  Once drilled, installed, and developed, the wells are fitted with appropriately sized electric submersible pumps lowered to the bottom of each well. The pumps are then used to push the water up from the bottom of the well and through the discharge piping system.

Deep wells can be located at a greater distance while generating the required drawdown rate and they are also used for several other applications such as water extraction, groundwater remediation and as a point of aquifer recharge in pumping systems to limit ground settlement.

Grade control is an essential part of the mining process because the metal being extracted from ground is never constant.  That is why we use RC drilling also known as in-pit grade control to define ore grades and also provide knowledge for mine planning and blasting. This information is very key and critical in helping our clients reduce waste rock (dilution) in concentrator feed as dilution can vary greatly and this is the defining factor when it comes to profitability.

RC grade control is the most cost effective and accurate way to define boundaries between waste rock and ore bodies.

Finally and from a purely economic standpoint, RC drilling (grade control) is what helps a company determine when the grade is too low and therefore avoid operating at a loss.  Our RC rates are very competitive.

Our significant investment in modern and state of the art equipment as well as well trained staff is a testament to our commitment to serving our customers with the highest level of professionalism in order to deliver superior quality service.  JDE owns the below equipment:

  • Blast holes drilling rigs

  • Hydro-geological drilling rigs

  • Exploration rigs

  • Pump testing rigs

In addition, we have a very well maintained fleet of 4X4 Land Cruiser vehicles, several support trucks, fuel bowsers all together giving JDE a competitive and logistical edge over our competitors in being able to mobilize in a relatively short period of time and being able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
